To ensure that all our planning documents help deliver sustainable development, we will ensure that they are subject to a sustainability appraisal. The first part of this process is to determine what are the issues and problems that currently occur in Sefton. Using this information we can make sure that our planning policies seek to address these and make positive changes.
This document - 'Sustainable Sefton' - identifies the issues in Sefton that need solving if we are to move towards providing residents with sustainable communities. It concludes with a framework, or checklist, that we will use throughout each stage of producing our planning policies, starting with the Core Strategy.
Please feel free to make comments on any part of this document. The easiest way to do this is by clicking on the 'add comments' button provided at the start of each section. You can also make comments by post, e-mail or fax - details of which can be found at section 6 of this document. The appendices to this document are provided under the 'supporting documents' tab at the box below.
